Retro Sprites!

In the spirit of old time 8-bit and 16-bit hockey games, I've tried replacing the placeholder player with a colorized layered sprite, for a nice retro look!
The sprite sheet is split between Primary, Secondary, Skin colors and basic layers for skates and sticks.

The retro sprites feel like another placeholder with a drawback with the Ai. Some players get caught or stuck behind the net and sometimes can score a goal from there without logic or reason, the a.i goalies hold on to the puck way longer than they should, and watching the game through the action camera seems pretty dizzying and jarring like the infamous mode 7 Stanley cup on the SNES jarring. also, while there are stars to indicate a bodycheck, it seems the players lack a knocked-down sprite when checked.
2d sprites in a 3d world, its good in theory and technicality, but it could use some work.
